Students and faculty alike wish to express ex-press heartfelt thanks to the team for the honor brought to M H S by the gallant fight that they made and their outstanding out-standing conduct at the tournament. tourn-ament. The remarkable record of victories vic-tories and exceptional sportsmanship sports-manship of the Tigers have set a high goal for future students to meet. Considerable comments have been received about the brand of basketball played in Region Ten. The fact that all teams from the region who entered en-tered the tournament were finalists fi-nalists speaks well for the calibre cal-ibre of athletes from our area. o Our thanks also to the cheerleaders, cheer-leaders, who came back battered and battle weary. Had cheerleaders cheer-leaders been judged, Sheila, Luciel, Colleen and Mary would have received first place. In spite of bruises and broken zippers, zip-pers, their unflagging zeal was -such that they were the only ones permitted on the floor. Our gratitude aso goes out to those leather-lunged fans who wore out their voices at the game. Compared with other schools, there were only half as many, but they sounded twice as loud. o The Student Council, assisted , by the cheerleaders, will sell home made candy at the film on Friday. Also competing at the festival was a sextet composed of Jackie and Louisa Brinkman, Mauri Rollins, Pat Bills, Nona Applegate, Nora Ann Walker, accompanied by Iola Young. o Monday, March 17, the C S U players will present an assembly for students and interested parents. par-ents. C S U representatives have always presented most en- tertaining programs. o Tentative plans are being laid for a school hike about April 30. Ponderosa Park has been nominated as the destination. |
