TO ABSTAIN FROM VOTINO. Democratic Union Party in Cuba Will Not Cast Ballots. The organizing committee of the Democratic Union party of Cuba has decided to recommend that the members mem-bers of the party abstain from voting at the coming elections. The party leaders contend that the election preparations prep-arations are being carried out in such an unfair way as to make it impossible for the opponents of those in power to get a hearing. On the other hand, it is asserted that the real motive underlying under-lying this action is the conviction of the leaders of the Democratic Union party that, as the Spaniards will refuse to vote, the party has no hope of success.
