Show Dixie Beats Hurricane With Last Quarter Rally; To Play Hinckley The Dixie six-man football team will engage a team from Hinckley Hinck-ley high school Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock on the local field. The Flyers won a hard-fought contest from the Tigers at Hurricane Hur-ricane last Thursday afternoon to take undisputed lead in the league standings. The score was 46-38. The winners are now given an outside chance of copping the division di-vision championship. Hurricane drew first blood last Thursday. Although the Flyers won the toss and received the kick, they lost the ball in mid-field mid-field when a pass was called instead in-stead of the usual kick on the fourth down. The Tigers took the ball over in a hurry and converted two more points on a kick. The game was hotly contested from then on, - with Dixie having a slight lead until into the third quarter, when Hurricane went ahead 38-28. Everything was Dixie's in the final quarter, when the Flyers held the Tigers scoreless and made three touchdowns on their own account to win the game 46-38. Hinckley has played two games to date, losing one to Beaver in a close contest. The other game has not been reported. Dixie is favored in the game Friday, but anything can happen in six-man football. Milford plays at Hurricane on the same date and Beaver goes to Cedar City. The Hinckley game is the last (Continued on page four) Dixie-Hurricane Game (Continued from first page) on the home grounds. During the next two weeks the Flyers wind up the season at Beaver and Cedar City, respectively. |
