Show Stake Missionary Group Holds First Open-Air Open-Air Meet of Summer Season Deslie L. Anderson and Robert Seaman were the stake missionary mission-ary speakers at the first of a planned series of open-air meetings meet-ings held Sunday evening on the lawns fronting the McQuarrie Memorial hall, with a small group attending. G. Carlyle Thompson, stake mission president was in charge of the services and music numbers included group singing of "Count Your Many Blessings" and three quartets, "Come Listen To A Prophet's Voice", "As the Dew from Heaven Distilling", and Reflects Upon Our Senses". Personnel Per-sonnel of the quartet included President Thompson, Carl L. Moss, Owen Cottam and William T. Morris Jr., the latter directing. Choosing as her subject, "Many are called, but few are chosen", Mrs. Anderson followed this thought as applied to the daily life of mankind in both Temporal and spiritual affairs, explaining the reasons in man's failure to fulfill the law and to make use of the talents and opportunities that are his and would prepare him for the chosen work. Mrs. Anderson is a missionary from the Temple bureau district. Robert -Seaman, president of the East district, stressed the value of the scriptures in directing direct-ing the life of man and the daily application that should be made by each individual in order to enrich en-rich all phases of mortal existence. |
