Show Friday Brings To Close WPA Training Program Talks and Demonstrations Show Methods To Be Used By Directors Friday will bring to a close one week of intensive training for the WPA workers of Washington, Iron. Rom-ney, Rom-ney, Washington, county librarian, whom Director Thorpe gives credit for beginning the WPA library li-brary book distribution projects in the state of Utah, a program which is finding favor in every state. , Mrs. Jenna V. Holland also gave an interesting discussion on Child Art, as applied to pictoral, musical and singing and literature, and its cultural effect on the entire life of the child. Conducts Demonstrations Miss Gunda Anderson, who won acclaim recently for her demonstrations demon-strations of dancing before the psychiatrists conference in Salt Lake City, conducted demonstrations demonstra-tions in dancing each afternoon and evening, also recreational leadership. Frank Van Cott of Cedar City lead in community singing and was assisted in piano accompaniments accompani-ments by Mrs. Bertha Mitchell of Parowan. Others assisting during the week as guest speakers and with demonstrations were Supt. Milton E. Moody on school recreation and physical education, Grant Whitehead White-head on church in recreation, with special reading course demonstration demonstra-tion by Ellen S. Bentley and dance demonstrations by Mary Lou Wells and Alice Thompson, and talks on home recreation and dramatics by Miss Ruth Skidmore. The group attending the conference confer-ence in addition to the above mentioned men-tioned included Isabell Papworth, Rhea Wakeling, Madge Adams, Daniel Banks and Sylvia Jones, all of Cedar City; Sanford Angell, Delta; Sarah Higgins, Fillmore; Alice Walker, Hinckley; Fay D. Hamblin, Kanab; Margaret S. Fotheringham, Hazel Moore and Frank Stodard, Milford; Reese Griffiths, Minersville; Cora Brown and Jessie L. Gibson, Hurricane; Nellie A. Twitchell and Amos Hall, Enterprise; Robert Dean, Toquerville; Nellie S. Martineau, Gunlock, and the group of St. George workers. Gives Personal Interviews Mrs. Gwendolyn Rogers supplied vital information on story telling and Dir. Verne B. Thorpe conducted con-ducted personal interviews and on Friday will give the conference summary. He introduced each session's ses-sion's program speakers.
