Show Capacity House Attends 'The Nativity Production Rated Among Best To Be Presented In St. George's History The St. George stake Tabernacle was packed to near capacity Sunday Sun-day evening for the oratorio, "The Nativity", as the Christmas holi day offering of the Dixie junior coilege. Conductor Jos. W. McAllister Mc-Allister with his Dixie college chorus, and assisted by. community com-munity talent as listed in last week's News, again thrilled the audience with this very excellent performance. The orchestra, also mide up of college students and community associates were trained bv Prof. Earl J. Bleak and responded re-sponded to every requirement, Mrs. Mae A. Pace accompanying at the Tabernacle organ and Paul Thompson at the piano. Many Express Appreciation Among the audience were several sev-eral newcomers, some from larger cities in California, who expressed appreciation for this very fine performance, and suprise that so much well-trained talent, both in vocal and instrumental music could be assembled in a community commun-ity the size of St. George. Local people remained after the performance per-formance to congratulate Conductor Con-ductor McAllister, Director Bleak and all who participated. The ladies' chorus from the college col-lege with Mrs. Mack G. Jackson and Mrs. Pratt Miles as soloists, filled the entire choir space and were formally gowned. The male chorus occupied the seats of the rostrum. Marion Bowler, Jay Huntsman and Leland Lamoreaux were the soloists in this division, and the male quartets, trios and ensemble work were of the high order Mr. McAllister always obtains ob-tains in connection with these programs. |
