Show The Bridge Ettes held their Christmas social last Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Robert 1 ickelt. Special guests were Mrs. Darrel phii Spencer and Mrs. Howard Whitehead of Los Angeles. An-geles. Honors for the evening went to Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. Elmer Harmon. At the conclusion of the games, the guests drew numbers for the Christmas gifts which were exchanged, before the serving of refreshments. Relatives in St. George have been advised that Warren Cox, who underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hopsital Dec. 4th, is making mak-ing good improvement. Operated on in the same hospital on the same day were Mr. Cox's brother Jed Cox, and Pratt Prince, both formerly of St. George. According to reports both men are also improving. im-proving. Mrs. E. J. Simmons, the former Margaret Mitchell, and infant daughter, left last Sunday for Orem to visit over Christmas holidays holi-days with her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Simmons. Her husband, Ensign Simmons, is expected home from Virginia for a short leave and will join them at Orem. Mrs. LaVon McQuaid entertained enter-tained the Friday evening Bridge club at her home Dec. 17. Honors were shared by Mrs. Nelson Fen-ton, Fen-ton, Mrs. J. J. Phoenix and Mrs. George Wells. Mrs. J. W. Pace returned early Wednesday morning from northern nor-thern Utah points where she has spent the past two weeks. She attended the funeral for Mrs. Ella McQuarrie Hatch in Ogden, visited vis-ited in Salt Lake City with her aunt, Mrs. Olive Milburn, and with her attended the 85th birthday birth-day anniversary party honoring Mrs. Jane Blake Branch held in Price over the week end. Milton Schmutz, who has been attending school in Provo is home for the 'holidays. tf w Mrs. W. Morton Morris entertained enter-tained at Bridge at her home last Friday afternoon. Attorney LeRoy H. Cox left Sunday for Los Angeles on business, busi-ness, returning late Wednesday, .v. '1.- -K- 'a- Mr. and Mrs. Morton W. Morris left Sunday for Los Angeles, where they will visit over the holidays with their son, Bob and family. Mrs. Mary L. Orton, Mr. and Mrs. Lollin Orton of Parowan visited over Sunday with Mrs. LeRoy Le-Roy H. Cox. Mrs. Orton is the mother of Mrs. Cox. OJ. jjt. Wendell Snow, Karl Hutchings, J. I. Ricketts and Clark Blake spent the week end in Salt Lake City, where they took pre-induc-tion examinations. |
