Show Shevwit Reservation Branch Presents South Ward Program More than 450 attended the services serv-ices in the South ward chapel Sunday, Jan. 28, when the major part of the program was given by the Indians of the Shevwit Reservation Reser-vation branch of the South ward. Miss Nevada Smokey was announcer. an-nouncer. Pres. H. S. Snow presented pre-sented the people of the Reservation Reserva-tion with two large oil prints of scriptural text, sent by Miss Marjorie Mackerly of Beaver to be hung in their chapel. The response was made by Tony Till-ohash, Till-ohash, president of the Shevwit organization, who also spoke on the restored Gospel and his conception con-ception of the Book of Mormon and its relation to his Lamanite projenitors. A group of small children sang the Christmas Cradle Song. Miss Smokey related the dream of Alfred Durham, pioneer musician of Parowan, and the religious melody which formed part of his dream was presented by W. T. Morris Jr. and Mrs. G. D. Hyatt with the piano and electric guitar. Older girls of the reservation reser-vation sang the Indian song, "Fallen Leaf." Tony Tillohash sang the good will song of the Indians as they journey annually to Gallup, New Mexico for the dance festival, and Mr. Morris gave his original poem, a legend of the Red Man. |
