Show Grazing Survey Reveals Vegetation Good On Pine Yalley Mountain A scientific check on the vegetation vegeta-tion on the top of Pine Valley mountain was made on July 17, 18 and 19 by representatives of the various organizations interested inter-ested in this watershed, recreation and feeding area. The men camped camp-ed out for two nights on the top of the mountain in order that they might check as much territory terri-tory as possible. Complete reports will be made by the men to the various organizations organ-izations which they represented. A general report from them indicates indi-cates that the deer and livestock are in excellent condition and that there is a considerable amount of snow still on the ground in the shaded and protected pro-tected areas. Feed for stock, which includes grasses and varies vari-es : types of brouse, is said to be good this year. Grazed Severely However, it was pointed out that a number of plants have been grazed so severely in the past few years that they have almost been eliminated. Those who are familiar with the history of these plants declare that it will take careful feeding to bring them back to normal. The check on the vegetation was made in order that a recommendation recom-mendation can be made to the Big Game board relative to the carrying capacity of the range. It has been pointed out by men familiar with range conditions on the Dixie National forest, that it isn't a matter of how many deer or livestock are on the range, but a question as to whether the range can carry those now there. It has also been pointed out many times that this forest area has many uses and that its full resources re-sources should be used and prq-tected prq-tected for the best interest of everyone directly of indirectly concerned. Meeting's To Be Called Following the reports of the men who made the survey to the organizations they represent, meetings meet-ings will be called to determine a recommendation to be submitted to the Big Game board. J. Lawrence Wadsworth reports that following the board's consideration consid-eration of the report of their representative, rep-resentative, a general meeting will be called at which time all members mem-bers will be invited to participate in a discussion relative to the problem and a resolution framed to be sent to the Big Game board.
