Show Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Henrietta Walker At Tabernacle Funeral services were held in the St. George Tabernacle at 11 a. m., Wednesday, July 23", for Henrietta Cartwright Higley Walker, 61, who died at the family home at 4 P- m., Monday following a lingering ling-ering illness form cancer. Bishop James Andrus of the West ward presided at the serves serv-es with Counselor Grant Whitehead White-head conducting the program, and Nemmie Pearce at the organ. Music numbers included, "The Lord's Prayer", sung by the West ward Ladies' Trio, with Anna Carter Cox, Mamie Paxman and LaRee Porter; Ladies' chorus, "I Need Thee Every Hour", trio, "I nw I Shall Not Pass Again This Way", Anna Carter, Clec kelson and Florence Prince, and NKcal solo, "My Faith In Thee", y Mamie Paxman. Worthen who dwelt on Scriptural evidences of the eternal life and sermonized on Gospel principles. Bishop Grant Whitehead made brief closing remarks. Prayers were by Woodrow Dennett, Den-nett, and J. R. Fawcett and the grave in the City cemetery was dedicated by Boyd Dennett. Born in Green Bottoms, West Virginia, March 22, 1880, Henrietta Henri-etta Cartwright Higley Walker was a daughter of William H. S. and Hohemburger Cartwright. The family joined the church and came to Utah when she was a small girl. June 17, 1901, she married Oliver Oli-ver Ace Higley, who died in St. George in 1935. They had lived in northern Utah and later on the Arizona Strip. In 1938 she was married to Charles Walker and has since made her home in St. George. Surviving besides Mr. Walker are her five children, Mrs. Sadie Duncan of Roosevelt, Utah; Mrs. Goldie Hinchman of Pueblo, Colorado; Colo-rado; William Oliver Higley and Marion Cluff Higley of Santa Monica, Calif., and Walter Clark Higley of American Fork; four sisters, Mae Higley of Grantsville; Carrie Rawlings of Draper; Sadie Scoen of Delta, and Maude Bench-ley Bench-ley of Provo Bench and three brothers, Walter Cartwright and Cluff Cartwright of Salt Lake City, and Andrew Cartwright of Wendover; also 15 grandchildren. |
