Show Salvage Problems Discussed and Ironed Out At Meeting Held Here Friday, August 25th A special conference for county ad city salvage officers held in George Friday, Aug. 25, resulted re-sulted in ironing out many questions ques-tions and problems, reports Mrs. s Barton, county chairman. "!e major problem .overcome was that of hauling salvage to the Reiving centers when collected, is is met by the State Road mmission, who have offered fir trucks for hauling the paper savage from entire Washington county to Cedar City terminus. Attending the conference was "re. Grace D. Wahlquist of Salt J City, chairman of women's "'vision of the state salvage board, and Evelyn Webster, chairman of county. Local groups were also well represented. Mrs. Wahl-quest Wahl-quest praised the cooperation of freight and star main truckers throughout - the entire state for their efforts to meet this program pro-gram in the past. Most of them have hauled salvage materials free of charge, she reported. The paper salvage drive, which is the next big project, will end Friday, Sept. 29. As previously, the drive will be directed by the schools of the county, with teachers teach-ers and children cooperating. People are requested to tie magazines mag-azines and newspapers in separate bundles, using old stockings or overall strips for strings. Every home will be visited prior to Sept. 29, says Mrs. Barton. |
