Show Tomato Canning Project Now On, Reports Pres. Harold S. Snow Producers of St. George stake! Your surplus tomatoes are wanted next Tuesday for the Church Welfare Wel-fare program! This call is being issued by Pres. Harold S. Snow, who reports that Tuesday, Sept. 5th, has been designated des-ignated as St. George stake tomato tom-ato canning day. Those in charge believe that with the cooperation of ward members such as was given on this project last year, the full 1944 allotment for St. George stake can be put into the cans on that day. Growers have had a fair crop of (Continued on page four) Tomato Canning (Continued from first page) tomatoes this year with sales rather inactive. However, people are being urged not to let this or other food crops waste, because more and more food will be needed. For the welfare canning people are being asked to contribute their Monday's picking, delivering them at the Bishop's Storehouse building Monday evening, or by 9 a. m., Tuesday. Those who are unable to deliver their contributions, contribu-tions, are asked to contact their respective bishops, who will see that they are brought in. President Snow and his workers on this program express appreciation appreci-ation for the support they have received in the past and urge the same wholehearted cooperation be given this call for canning tomatoes tom-atoes for Tuesday, Sept. 5th. |
