Show Packed House Greets South Ward M.I.A. Play A packed house greeted last Saturday evening's performance of the south ward M.I.A. three-act comedy, "Adam and Eva" and the entire audience was enthusiastic enthusias-tic in praise of the production. The caste included Arthur Hunt, Viola Woodbury, Elmer Cox, Jean Cannon, Homer Robertson, Elwood I Mainwearing, Lavoid Leavitt, La- Verne DeSwan, LeGrand Wood and Mrs. Gus Pendleton. Mrs. Mattie W. Ruesch directed and Miss Marian Woodard assisted with makeups. From the moment Mr. Lunt entered the stage as the irritated Mr. King, financier for a family of dependent ingrates, to the last curtain when the cleverly worked plans of his business busi-ness manager, Adam Smith, played play-ed by Elmer Cox, resulted in putting put-ting every family member to work and making them like it, the audience was convulsed with laughter at the numerous homelike home-like incidents, and happy in seeing see-ing "Eva", Viola Woodbury, engaged en-gaged to Adam. The cast was so well selected, and every part so thoroughly learned, the play went over with unusual smoothness and speed, say those who attended, and many have expressed a desire to see the play a second time. |
