Show Local Cattlemen Draw Top Price For Cattle In L. A. Returning Sunday from Los Angeles where they had taken a load of beef cattle, E. S. Gardner feels that the trip was well worth making, since their beef topped the market 25c per hundred above any other sold last week, bringing bring-ing them S9.75 per hundred. "This", says Mr. Gardner "shows what Washington county can do in raising cattle". The steers, raised by Mr. Gardner, his father and his son. Dean, in Pine Valley, were fed out in the fields near St. George by Evan J. Woodbury on ground barley, cane silage and alfalfa hay. all locally grown crops. The truck load of steers were sold on the Los Angeles Market February 13. j |
