LaMar Warren of Bryce CCC camp was rushed to the McGregor hospital October 7, for surgery. Pres. Harold S. Snow and Bert Langford, recorder, of the St George Temple returned late Sunday Sun-day night from attending conference con-ference in Salt Lake City. Ramsay of Currant, Nev. was a medical patient at the McGregor hospital Saturday and Sunday. i Mrs. Vivian Leany entertained 10 members of the O.N.O. club at her home Saturday afternoon. Following an informal program, light refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McArthur returned Sunday evening from their honeymoon trip on which they left September 30. They went from St. George to Los Angeles where they toured the coast cities up to San Francisco. They crossed on the Bay bridge and drove through Reno, Nev. and Salt Lake City, back home. Miss Fae Anderson was home for a brief visit last week-end from her summer's employment with the Union Pacific at Grand Canyon and later at Sun Valley, Idaho. She will be stationed at Cedar CitV this winter at El Escalante hotel. Mrs. Milton E. Moody entertained enter-tained at a birthday anniversary party for their daughter, Beverly, on Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bryner and family, who have spent the past year in Salt Lake City, returned recently to settle permanently in St. George. They have purchased a home here. ' Mrs. Rachel Barlow of Overton, Nev. is here to visit her daughter, Mrs. Ivie Boyles, who is receiving treatment at the McGregor hospital. hos-pital. Mrs. James S. Jones left last week for Pioche to stay indefinitely indefinite-ly with her son, Chester, and family. Mrs. Chester Jones underwent' under-went' surgery last Wednesday at the Iron county hospital. The first meeting for mothers of the nursery school children was held in the nursery room of the science building Friday at 4 p.m. Those attending discussed the proposed pro-posed program to be carried out during the ensuing year. McAllister Mc-Allister returned Friday from Hinckley where they have been to attend the funeral services of Alfred Stout, brother-in-law of Mrs. McAllister. Eric Snow motored to Salt Lake City Friday Fri-day to attend conference and visit relatives, taking with them Mrs. Snow's father, Samuel T. Bleak. They returned Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Simpson and infant son, . Richard Edgar, are leaving today (Thursday) for Pasadena and Los Angeles where they will visit relatives. Mrs. Annetta Pearce returned to her employment at Snow's Dress Shop last Thursday, following follow-ing an extended summer vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Sweet of Littlefield were St. George visitors Saturday. S Mrs. E. C. Picklesimer and her son, James, of Richmond, Calif., have been in St. George during the past week doing Temple work and visiting with her sisters, Mrs. Bert Hardy and Mrs. Len Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wadsworth left Friday for Salt Lake City on business. Their -daughter, Jennie, took the bus north Saturday night and will return with them this week-end. The stake relief society board members made their fall visit Tuesday afternoon to. the wards in the western extremity of the stake. Mrs. Marie Cannon and Mrs. Marion Snow were at Enterprise; Enter-prise; Mrs. Mae M. McAllister and Mrs. Amber Schmutz, Veyo; Zora S. Jarvis and Mrs. Maude R. Woodard, at Central and Juanita Brooks, president, and Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Cox, at Gunlock. They plan to visit other wards next week. The Misses Uarda Knight and L. Bessendorfer held a clinic in Veyo last week, giving special instructions in-structions to mothers on nursing in the sick room. - Doctor and Mrs. Alfred Bleak returned to their home in Los Angeles last Friday afternoon. They were accompanied by their brother, Don Bleak, of Inglewood, the three had been here to attend the funeral services of their mother, Mrs. Lucy C. Store, went to Cedar City Tuesday night to attend the Southern Utah district dis-trict I.G.A. convention. They report re-port and extremely interesting and profitable session. Miss Marie Carter left Tuesday evening for Salt Lake City. Members of the Triple K club were guests of Mrs. Iliff Andrus at the Andrus home Wednesday afternoon. The diversion was Pinochle, Mrs. Irene Bentley won high score and Mrs. Cecil Frei i won second place. ' Mrs. Ray Larson and children of Washington, and Miss Irene Carter, who is employed at Cedar City, spent the past week-end visiting at the home of their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Carter. Laron S. Andrus, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Matilda Andrus and his grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Sandberg of Washington, motored to Salt Lake City last Thursday and returned Saturday. Mrs. Sandberg is 86 years of age and this is her first visit to the city in 20 years. Ted Heal of Salt Lake City was treated for broken ribs and collar bone, and numerous cuts and bruises sustained when his car ran off the Bellview ridge highway at an early hour this (Thursday) morning. His condition is not serious. Mrs. G. M. Spilsbury is here visiting her daughter, Mrs. K. M. Cannon. Miss Lcda Heaton was home from Overton over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Forsythe spent Wednesday and Thursday forenoon in St. George visiting relatives and attending Temple services, having spent the weekend week-end with relatives in Cedar City. They left for Toquerville today, (Thursday) where they will visit with Mr. Forsythe's father, B. H. Forsythe, and other family members. mem-bers. His sister, Mrs. Walter Batty, is entertaining in their honor this evening. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Matheson of Chicago were visitors at the home of Mayor and Mrs. Albert E. Miller Wednesday p.m. Mr. Matheson is president of the Chicago Chi-cago branch of the L.D.S .church, and father of Mrs. George Miller of Beaver. After attending conference con-ference in Salt Lake City they visited in Beaver with their children, child-ren, toured the parks of Southern Utah, and went on from St. George late Wednesday to visit Boulder Dam and cities of the coast before be-fore returjiing to Chicago. |
