Show Mrs. Lestre Wilcox of Panguitch is a recent patient at the 51c-gregor 51c-gregor hospital. O. C. Scott of Salt Lake City, a member of the Central committee com-mittee of the L.D.S. church social security program spent Tuesday in St. George on business connected with this work. About seventy-five people assembled for the meeting held in the Dixie college building Tuesday evening at which Mr. Scott was the speaker. He discussed dis-cussed extensively the general program pro-gram of social security giving special consideration to the community com-munity survey now under way, giving instruction for the survey and presenting charts, schedules and other data along with his address. ad-dress. The special assignment of Mr. Scott on the Central committee com-mittee is the general supervision of agricultural projects. During the day he visited the project now under consideration of the South ward Elder's quorum, known as the Bloomington project, and plans to return to this section within a month to give other instruction and assistance in outlining and setting up of advisable work projects. pro-jects. Frank Miles is here visiting friends and relatives for a few days. He came in Monday from Salt Lake City where he is living. Mrs. Laurel E. Leavitt and Mrs. Ronald Cottam entertained at a Valentine supper and party February Febru-ary 9, tables being set for 18. Valentine ideas were featured in house decorations and serving and the evening was devoted to games. Mrs. L. A. Porter was in the local hospital for medical treatment treat-ment February 10 to 13. Atkin is critically ill at his home in St. George suffering suf-fering from a stroke and partial paralysis which attacked him last Sunday forenoon. He had a similar attack about ten years ago but had recovered nicely and was seemingly feeling very well prior to this sudden attack. Mrs. Rozella Frehner is in the local hospital for surgical treatment. treat-ment. Dr. and Mrs. Lorenzo McGregor returned February 10th from a business trip to Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Horace McArthur came with them and Mr. McArthur entered en-tered the McGregor hospital February Feb-ruary 12 for surgical treatment. -Ji -v- Mrs. Byron Staples and Mr. and Mrs. Myrtle Whiting all of Elisinore are here under care of the McGregor hospital, the two women for surgery and Mr. Whiting Whit-ing for medical treatment. H. A. Dixon, president of Weber college, recently secured permission per-mission from Mrs. Juanita Brooks for use of her atricle on the Mormon Mor-mon plan of Social Security to be presented by Pres. W. H. Reeder of Mt. Ogden Stake at a Rotary convention to be held in the east. |
