Show MINING MEN WILL EXCHANGE IDEAS AT MEETING Mining men will hold a convention at Salt Lake City during the week of August 22 to discuss economic, legislative, legis-lative, technical and cooperative problems prob-lems of the metal mining industry. While the call for the convention is issued by the western division of the American Mining Congress, which Is an amalgamation of state mining organizations, or-ganizations, the meeting will have the cooperation of other organizations, such as the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, the American Silver Producers Association, Associ-ation, etc. The general tax committee commit-tee of the American Mining Congress will also meet in Salt Lake City at the same time. The asesmbling of these groups simultaneously sim-ultaneously and their Joint discussions discus-sions of problems affecting the mining industry" will do two things: Bring about a spirit of closer cooperation in the different branches of the metal producing industry; and develop a definite program for that Industry upon which all are agreed. Interchange of information is the basis of the growth of industry. The combined discussions bring out both management and the operating personnel, per-sonnel, and give each an opportunity to better understand the problem of the other. |
