Show URGES ERADICATION OF "PUNCTURE VINE" John E. Blazzard, state crop pest inspector in-spector for the state of Utah, was in St. George on official business this week. While here he called attention atten-tion to the puncture vine or "bone tack" which he uprooted at Middle-ton, Middle-ton, about two miles east of this city and urged that this pest be not allowed al-lowed to get a start in this state. Utah has been very fortunate in not being troubled t with this noxious weed in the past. Puncture vine grows and, flourishes in desert and rocky sections where no rain has fallen for years. It spreads very rapidly. Mr. Blazzard urges that every effort should be made t;o uproot and destroy de-stroy every one of these weeds that is found. |
