It Is not often tnat one runs across a house plan which combines so many unusual nnd desirable features as are to be found iu the plan reproduced here. As will be seen from the Indication Indi-cation of a "farm office" on the plan, this house was originally designed as a farm house, but It will be found equally satisfactory In town or city, for the professional man who requires an office, for the family which has no -such need. Only a slight modification will be required to adapt It to any family. Its stucco exterior, lu Dutch colonial co-lonial style, presents a most attractive attrac-tive appearance, simple but well balanced bal-anced with a charming entrance, the latter greatly enhanced by effective vines and shrubbery. The interior, too, follows the colonial idea with a centrul reception and stair hall ou the first floor. Dining room and livini; room are at the front of the house ou either side of this hall, and back of them a kitchen and office. One of the novel und attractive features fea-tures Is found In connection with the kitchen, a breakfast nook, set Into a bay, with a curved ss?at nnd center table. ta-ble. OlT the kitchen there Is also a Inrge pantry where the refrigerator Is placed and which will be found most . convenient for the storage of supplies. Between the kitchen and office there Is a washroom with toilet adjacent to the rear entrance. As has been suggested the office Is suitable either for a farm office or for the professional man. Again It may be used as a library or study where the school-going members of the family fam-ily may retire to prepare their lessons les-sons undisturbed. I'.ut if no such room is needed this space can Just us wvll be made a part of the living room. It is only necessary to omit the partition par-tition wall. Above stairs there nre three bedrooms, bed-rooms, one with a large alcove, and a bathroom. Kach of the bedrooms is a corner room with plenty of light and good cross ventilation. Kach, too, Is provided with an ample closet and there Is another closet for the storage of linens In the upstairs hall. A basement base-ment of the same dimensions ns the house provides space for heating plant, laundry and storage. |
