Show WOODWARD ENROLLS 650 PUPILS; SHOWS INCREASEJHIS YEAR The first day's enrollment figures fig-ures show that the Woodward school had 60 8 pupils attending school. Last year there were 628 or a decrease of twenty for this year. However, at the beginning be-ginning of the second week, Mr. Worthen, principal of the school reports that the enrollment had increased to 650 while last year at the same time there were 643, showing an increase of seven for this year over last. The rooms are well filled with sections sec-tions ranging from thirty-three to forty-six. Teachers report that the students stud-ents are taking a fine interest in their work and showing a determination de-termination to do their best. And according to Mr. Worthen the teachers are likewise reciprocating reciprocat-ing and are all working earnestly to try and give the students the most possible help and to make the school interesting for all. Many projects are now under way in many of the rooms. The faculty has been organized in the following committees for the school year of 1934-35. School program: Israel Neil-Son, Neil-Son, Jr., chairman, Mishie Seegmiller. Seeg-miller. K. E. Fordham. Parent Teachers Committee: H. S. Sncw, chairman, Lena Nelson, Clesta Worthen. Playground committee; K. M. Cannon, chairman, La Rue Cox, Linda Larson. Faculty Meeting committee: Vernon Worthen, chairman, Wanda Wan-da Snow, Bessie Atkin. Miscellaneous committees: Vivian Viv-ian J. Frei, chairman, Florence Foremaster, Ruth Sorenson. Historian: Tillie Winsor. Secretary, Clara Graff. Treasurer, Vernon Worthen. The faculty express the hope that parents will feel free to come to the school and see what is being done in the different classes. They will welcome suggestions sug-gestions that will help to better the school and ask that 1f you I have complaints to please talk them over with them. |
