Show WOODWARD SCHOOL NEWS First Grade We have learned how to cross streets. We cross at the corners. We look up and down, back and forth, and we always keep tj the right. We had a party. It was a surprise sur-prise party. It was AIts. Graham's Gra-ham's birthday. Airs. Lewis and Mary Jeanne brought a birthday cake. It had candles on it. It had prizes in it. They brought punch, too. We had a good time. We said, "Thank you," to AI.'s. Lewis and Mary Jeanne. The first grade pupils are working on the operetta, "The Secret Garden" which will be presented in March. W Miss Winsor's third grade has its work and play store ready for a grand opening on Wednesday. February 1. They are offering specials that day on goods, and they have a splendid line of groceries, gro-ceries, and three new delivery trucks. They would like to invite the parents to visit the store. After they enjoy it for a while they will send out in the county for the use of boys and girls in other schools. W Sixth Grade Geography In geography this week we Tiave been . !yu dying different countries. Along with them we tell about their government, transportation and commerce, rivers riv-ers and lakes, their important cities, the history of the coun---JtrJ3dfty-Qiieriin porta r.i things and places. The countries are: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Rou-mania, Rou-mania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Poland Po-land and Belgium. We also chose captains for these subjects, which have been very interesting interest-ing and important. W Friday the students of Kenneth Ken-neth Cannon's sixth grade chose up sides for a spelling contest. Roma Reber and Utahna Roberts Rob-erts were the captains. The former's for-mer's side won with Paul Crosby Cros-by and D. C. Watson last standing. stand-ing. The last standing on the latter's side were Alice Thompson Thomp-son and Jane Pace. In nature the past week they riave had some interesting poeirs and stories on different subjects. Captains of groups chosen were Noma Andrus, Berneice Miles, Alice Thompson and C'aryle Stauffer. The subjects were cat families, wild animals, dogs an-', pets. |
