Show CELEBRATION FOR SCOUTING ItfMRf Twenty-Third Year of Boy Scout Work in America to j Be Observed by Local Troops Next Week The twenty-third anniversary of the birth of Scouting in America Am-erica will be celebrated in St. Ceorge during ' tbe. week commencing com-mencing February 5, and continue contin-ue t" Saturday, February 11, according ac-cording to B. vi-.cii S'ljHi. local Scout commissioned! On Sunday evening, a big Scouting program will be given in the auditorium of the Dixie College, at which time awards made by the court of honor during the past year will be reviewed. re-viewed. About fifty boys will receive re-ceive letters of congratulation from the court of honor. Preceding the making of the awards, a Scouting program will be given, consisting of a three-act three-act dramatization and 'miscellaneous 'miscellan-eous musical numbers, including selections from the Boy Scout band under the direction of Prof. E. J. Bleak. The dramatization, entitled "After Dark", depicts the activities activi-ties of a number of boys in a Scout camp. It is under the direction di-rection of B. Glen Smith. The various parts will be taken by Charles Pickett, Murdell Earl. Therol McArthur, Wendell Snow, George Thompson, Grant Miller, Blake Empey, Carl Moss, Horace Thompson and Kenneth Lund. Some time during the week a community good turn will be performed by the Scouts. ISanta Clara and Washington troops will join with the St. George troops in the week's activities. |
