Show BUSINESS MEN FAVOR FRANCHISE Business and professional men of Cedar City met recently and passed resolutions to the city county favoring granting a franchise fran-chise to the Southern Utah Power Pow-er Company for a period of at at least ten years. The committee commit-tee backing the move consists of Dr. M. J. Macfarlane, W. 11. Leigh, M. J. Urie, E. S. O'Connor O'Con-nor and Charles B. Petty. The group expressed opposition to a municipal plant for Cedar City, both in practice and in principle, it being held that private pri-vate corporations were in general gen-eral more reliable in service, and that government in business was not to be encouraged. |
