Show ANNA HUTGHINGS PASSES HERE Wife of Local Dentist Dies After Brief Illness; Funeral Held at Beaver Today The community was saddened late Tuesday afternoon when it was learned that Mrs. Anna Mjarie Hutchings, Hutch-ings, wife of Dr. A. J. Hutchings, I had passed away following a brief j illness. On July 22, she was operat-j operat-j ed on for appendicitis and was ap-! ap-! parently recovering when an en-cephalitic en-cephalitic condition occurred which caused her death. Mrs. Hutchings was born July 20, 1887, at Richfield, a daughter of Hans Peter and Elsie Marie Jensen Olson and spent her girlhood at that place, graduating from the elementary ele-mentary and high schools there. Later she attended the University of Utah and taught in the grade schools of Sevier county for several years. On February 6, 1909, she was married to Albert J. Hutchings and the couple moved to Beaver to make their home. In December, 1925, Dr. Hutchings established dental offices in St. George and the family have resided here since. Three years ago Mrs. Hutchings attended the nurses' training school of the Holy, Cross hospital at Salt Lake City, but on account of ill health was obliged to return home. Here she attended the business department de-partment of the Dixie College and expected to complete a stenographic course this winter. During the time she has been here she has won a host of friends by her cheerful disposition and friendly attitude toward everyone. She was a devoted wife and a loving lov-ing mother, a pal as well as a guardian to her children. She was admired and respected by all who knew her. Besides her husband and daughter, daugh-ter, Lorna, and son, Gordon, she is survived by her parents, two brothers, bro-thers, Walter and Frantz of Central, Sevier county, and a sister, Mrs. Elsie El-sie Despain of Venice, Utah. Funeral services were held at Beaver Bea-ver this afternoon, where her body was interred beside that of her daughter, Iona Janice, who died 15 years ago. Dr. W. J. Reichmann and Miss Ovilla Empey left this morning to attend the funeral. Dr. Reichmann was one of the speakers and Miss Empey read a tribute. |
