Show EUROPEAN PIANIST IN RARE RECITAL Those who failed to attend the piano recital sponsored by Miss Evelyn Thurston and J. Wm. Mfc-Allister Mfc-Allister Monday etening mi&sed a rare treat. George Henrik Douglas Doug-las is a European pianist who has enjoyed eminence and was rightly recommended by Prof. A. C. Lund as a wonderful artist. It was a distinct pleasure to witness his performance per-formance of classics from the masters. He is a pupil of Liszt and his splendid rendition of numbers from this great composer. Liebes-traum Liebes-traum and Rhapsody No. 12, as well as compositions from Beethoven. Beetho-ven. Mason and Chopin were wonderful. won-derful. Those who have appreciated appreci-ated Miss Thurston's art at the piano and her skill as an instructor, instruc-tor, will understand with what pleasure she introduced this pianist pian-ist from Europe, and how disappointed disap-pointed she was to have so small an audience. However, those W:io did attend were appreciative of the entertainment. Following Mr-Douglas' Mr-Douglas' recital, by special request, the Misses Blanche and Ruby Nelson Nel-son favored those who remained with a piano number each. a::d a whistling and piano duet, which were also appreciated. |
