Show HONOR PROGRAM ENDS SCHOOL Awards Made by Legion Auxiliary Auxil-iary anil School for Acliievcments. An honor day program, for students of the Woodward school ! who have this year made out-! out-! standing achievements in scholarship, schol-arship, attendance and outside activities, was given at the closing clos-ing of the institution Friday morning in the tabernacle. American Legion Auxiliary awards were made as follows: Jane Pace and Howard Burgess Bur-gess for contributions to safety, safe-ty, presented by City Marshal John H. Cottam. Elmer Pickett and Hershel Hafen for flag code, given by B. Glen Smith. Nettie Lund and Phoebe Lytic for essays on life of Washington, Washing-ton, presented by Mrs. Jos. W. Prince. The chorus contest, which was participated in by 210 students, was won by an eighth grade group, directed by Noma Cox. Honor students selected f r this year were Mary Sullivan and Charles Pickett, both of the eighth grade. The prize was given to the girl by Miss TV.ie Winsor and to the boy by Viv'an J. Frei. They were selected on the following fol-lowing points: Most representative representa-tive students, scholarships, attitude atti-tude toward school and other students, general character, and courtesy and leadership. |
