Show COUNTY 10 ASK RED CROSS KID Committee Appointed to Apply to Relief Organization for Flour. A survey of the needs of distressed dis-tressed people in the county, both, for food and feed for livestock, live-stock, is being made by bishops of the wards in cooperation with the "Relief Societies, Ben Swapp, ranger; John H. Cottam, chairman chair-man of transient relief, and Charles Hamilton, of Toquerville, and when completed, an application appli-cation will be made to the Red Cross for a portion of the 40,-000,000 40,-000,000 bushels of wheat being distributed by the government to the poor. The central committee in charge of the applications is Waiter F. Smith, chairman; W. O. Bentley and Claud KirschL presidents of St. George and Zion Park stakes, respectively, vice-chairmen, and A. B. An-drus. An-drus. secretaiy. The fact that religious heads are handling the work is by no means a sign that distribution I will be within the confines o.' ) the church. These agencies are in charge merely because of the .fact that they are vitally interested inter-ested in the welfare of the people peo-ple and are already established which will facilitate completion of the survey. It is- the hope of the committee com-mittee that a chapter of the Red Cross can be established here in the near future. It is the only relief agency recognized by the government, and although in some respects business seems to be on the upgrade, there is still a possibility that there may be even more distress and Washington Washing-ton county should be in a position po-sition to receive aid should it be needed.
