Freshwater, aged 19, V (lied suddenly at Washington County Hospital, fit. George, nf-teT nf-teT an illness of only a few days. Death occurred at 6 p. m., Saturday, February 24, the result re-sult of septic sore throat, with complications. The remains were sent to his home in Provo, and the funeral was to be held on Wednesday, February 28. En-rollee En-rollee Wendell Allman was detailed de-tailed by Capt. Morgan to accompany ac-company the remains, and to represent re-present the Company at the funeral. fun-eral. A free-will donation was taken up in the Company to secure se-cure an appropriate wreath, and a considerable sum was donated over and above the cost of the wreath, which was given to the parents of the deceased who, it is reported, are in straightened circumstances. The men of Company No. 958 still speak with pride of the fine dinner and free dance given in honor of the Company recently by the town of Washington in appreciation of the successful completion of the flood control project above the town. The entire en-tire company is now working on the Virgin River flood contro' project south of camp, and are making a fine showing. Rock dikes, bound down with heavi wire netting, are being construct ed jutting out fTom the bank in to the river, so as to control th' ever-shifting river channel ant1 also to build up silt deposits above the dikes. These dikes are expected to withstand the elements ele-ments for at least ten years, by which time it is .thought the river banks will have been ex- trt llQ PTlH Of th P dilPK tended to the end of the rt:Kes through silt infiltration. About 50 men of the Company including the baseball team, will accept an invitation to be the guests next Saturday of Camp Overton, Nev.. and play a return re-turn game of baseball. Cam-) Overton played our team her.? in Washington about four weeks ago, and beat us, so we are hoping hop-ing to even the ecore. Only about 16 men have signified signi-fied their intentions of dropping cut of the Company when their enrollment expires in April.
