Show DIXIE'S. A. C. SNOW IN THREE- WAY TIE Dixie and B. A. C. split their two game series played here on Friday and Saturday, March 8th and 9th at the same time Snow and Weber did likewise to throw the conference in a three-way tie. Scores for the Dixie-B. A. c. games were: Dixie, 48, 34; B. A. C. 41, 36. Because of this three-way tie it has been decided to have a tournament tour-nament at St. George between these three teams and Ricks. The tournament will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 21, 22, and 23. This information in-formation was telephoned to the f-Qiioo--. Thv.rsdav morning by President B. Glen Smith, who is in Salt Lake with the High school tsam. Wilson sent the local team off to a lead with some sensational basket shooting in the first game. He was high man for Dixie, scoring scor-ing 14 points. Schmutz was next with 12 and was followed by Pec-tol Pec-tol with 11. Sullivan played a nice game as did Empey when he replaced Wilson who went out on personal fouls. Hoyt, who plays both forward and center, should make a fine player next year if he continues his present rate of improvement and gets a little more experience. Saturday Night Game The Saturday night game was a nip and tuck affair from the beginning to the end. In this game B. A. C. used only five men while Dixie used seven. B. A. C. got off to a 6-3 lead in the first quarter and held a 13-12 point lead at the half. At the start of the third period, B. A. C. got off to a running start and chalked up a lead that Dixie was never able to catch, although they made a fine uphill fight. To Dixie fans it seemed that the local boys had two shots to one for B. A. C. but the boys couldn't get them to stay in the hoop, many seemingly going in and then coming out. Jones was high for the game with 15 points Wilson was next with 12 This was a very fast game, with lots of action and thrills a fine game to win and a hard one to lose. |
