Show WOMEN'S CIVIC CLUB XMAS PROGRAM HELD Unfolding from an original Christmas card book containing the program numbers was the interesting program of the Wo-men's Wo-men's Civic Club held at the Civic Center the night of December Decem-ber 10. The program was arranged arrang-ed by Mrs. Blanche Reid, who also announced the numbers. ?' "The Nativity from St. Luke" was given by Mrs. Ada Curtis with background piano music provided iby Mrs. Marian Jimas. Two vocal duets, A and B numbers, num-bers, were rendered by Mrs. Phoebe Siddoway and Mrs. Mary Raby with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Hannah Sanderson. Mrs. Hildegard Kite, ' who recently came from Germany to Bingham to make her home, gave an interesting in-teresting account of the customs and how they clebrate Christmas in Germany. A piano solo I'Silent Night" was played by Mrs; Sanderson Sand-erson and a story "An American Officer's First Xmas in Occupied Germany" was told by Mrs. Reid. Mrs. Jane Kastelic won the prize for the Christmas puessing game which followed. Mrs. Rosella Nerdin was introduced as story princess and gave two readings, "A Christmas 'Present for a Lady" La-dy" and "The Night After Christmas". Christ-mas". With the wave of her magic ma-gic wand she brought about the appearance of Santa Claus. Gifts were exchanged with Santa, aided aid-ed by Mrs. Nerdin, passing out the beautifully wrapped gifts. Preceding the program, a, short business meeting was conducted Mrs. Willadeen Householder, Mrs Eva Watson and Mrs. MaRee Nelson, hostesses for the evening. even-ing. A very good turnout was present. by Mrs. Agnes Johnston, president, presi-dent, with minutes of the last meeting being read by Mrs. Her-mine Her-mine Feraco, secretary. Mrs. Johnston introduced and welcomed wel-comed into the club the following follow-ing new members Mrs. Mary Tangaro, Mrs. Violet Carter, Mrs. Eva West, Mrs. Agnes Steele and Mrs. Vienna Isbell. Each member mem-ber present brought a can of canned fruit and canned vegetables veget-ables which will be used to put in Christmas ibaskets to be dis tributed to the needy in the area on Christmas. ' A small electric tree and two tall red tapers in crystal holders decorated the table where gifts were placed. Dainty refreshments further carrying out the red and green Christmas theme were served ser-ved by Mrs. Jimas, chairman |
