Show BoneoBiz power picm neon peal! i erErajpIoymerav As of April 30 there are 796 workers employed on the Deseret Generation & Transmission Cooperative Bonanza power plant project southeast of Vernal, according to a socioeconomic impact monitoring report prepared by DG&T. Total project population including workers, spouses and dependants is 1,370. The report shows 584 or 73 percent of the workforce married and 212 or 27 percent single workers. Local addresses for the workers show 409 from Vernal, 211 from Jensen, 20 from Dinosaur, Colo., 13 from . Roosevelt and one each from Bonanza, Ft. Duchense, Lapoint, Myton and Neola. A discrepancy exists between the number of workers and those registering addresses because some workers have not reported their addresses, the DG&T report stated. As permanent residence, 85 percent of the workers list Utah as then-residence. then-residence. Out of this group, 52 percent are from the Ogden, Salt Lake City and Provo areas. The most common craft is equipment operators numbering 139, followed by iron workers, 133. Next in number is laborers 110, carpenters 107, then dropping down to 50 porkers each are pipefitters-plumbers, teamsters and administrative. Although operators are used by most all contractors, the largest single employer is W.W. Clyde Co. It is expected as the site preparation draws closer to completion, equipment operators will begin to decline in numbers as other crafts continue to increase in numbers. Housing facilities provided by DG&T include 12 homes available for purchase or rent, 25 used mobile homes and 17 new units for 42 mobile homes. Sixty mobile home lot spaces have lease agreements at the Esquire Estates Mobile Home Park in Vernal and 13 at the Clark Mobile Home Estates in Jensen. RV camper spaces number 135 at the Bedrock Campground in Jensen and 80 additional spaces are projected to be needed as the workforce increases. Deseret has provided a 96 individual room bachelor type single living quarters complex in Jensen. The rest of the housing needs is being absorbed in existing facilities.
