Show Contract given for White River Dam EIS draft A contract has been awarded to Bio-West, Bio-West, Inc. of Logan to prepare a draft environmental impact statement for the Rnreau of Land Management on the White River Dam proposal. The draft statement is expected to be available to the public by October. Bio-West, Inc. submitted the lowest bid of $108,088 on a cost-plus fixed fee contract out of the six potential contractors con-tractors in the competitive erouo. The company also scored highest technically. The Utah Division of Water Resources is proposing to build a dam on the White River approximately 38 miles southeast of Vernal in Uintah County. It would be an earthfill dam with 67,000 acre-feet of active storage. The proposal also includes the construction con-struction of a five to six megawatt power plant. Water from the reservoir would be used primarily for energy development including oil shale and for irrigation on the Ute Indian reservation. |
