VERNAL LEGISLATOR ATTENDS DENVER ENERGY MEET Legislators from six Western states met in Denver recently for a three day conference on the burgeoning western energy industry. The - conference, sponsored by the National Conference of State Legislatures and the U.S. Department of Energy, Region VIII Office, drew thirty-six legislators from Montana, Mon-tana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. In attendance was state representative Gayle F. McKeachnie of Vernal. The conference's purpose was to provide legislators with a technical background to the coal, synthetic fuel and nuclear industries as well as to facilitate a dialogue between the states regarding energy . related issues.
