N Naples Trading Post nabs first place Naples Trading Post pocketed first place in the Girls' Softball League with a record of 7 wins and 0 losses. Naples gained its final win of the season when they toppled Altex Oil, 11 to 5, June 25. Sherry Smuin of Naples Trading Post belted a double and Alice Christensen of Altex Oil drilled the ball into the outfield for a triple. The crew from Naples Trading Post defeated Lee Petroleum, 14 to 12: . downed Dowell, 20 to 16; toppled A-l Tank, 12 to 6; defeated Uintah Engineering, 9 to 1; nipped Gibson, 11 to 9; edged Gudac, 11-10 and downed Altex Oil, 11 to 5, during the season. Gudac captured second place in the league with a 6-1 record. Gudac gained its sixth win of the season when they downed Dowell, 21 to 12, June 25. Dowell's Andy Critton had a double and a triple, back to back, and Michelle Blaisure stroked a double. Gudac also defeated Altex Oil, 13 to 10; A-l Tank, 16-9; Lee Petroleum, 15 to 6; Gibson, 24-3 24-3 and Uintah Engineering, 15 to 12. Gudac's only loss was by one point to Naples Trading Post, 11 to 10. Altex Oil garnered third place with a record of 4 wins and 3 losses. Altex defeated A-l Tank, 22 to 5; Gibson, 9 to 6; Dowell, 15 to 5 and Lee Petroleum, 20 to 13. Altex Oil suffered losses to Gudac, 13 to 10; Uintah Engineering, 13 to 9 and Naples Trading Post, 11 to 5. Lee Petroleum and Uintah Engineering tied for fourth place at 3-4 and Gibson placed sixth at 2-5. Dowell and A-l Tank netted seventh place at 1-6. 1-6. Uintah Engineering defeated Gibson, , June 24, due to a forfeit. Uintah Engineering also downed Altex Oil, 13 to 9 and A-l Tank, 17 to 16. Lee Petroleum toppled A-l Tank,' 25 to 9, June 24. Marci Critton slugged a double for Lee Petroleum and Lori Sawyer gained a double for A-l Tank. Lee Petroleum also defeated Uintah Engineering, 11 to 9 and downed Dowell, 14 to 7. Gibson toppled Dowell, 8 to 5 and downed A-l Tank, 12 to 8. Dowell defeated Uintah Engineering, 22 to 12 and A-l Tank toppled Dowell, 16 to 13. |
