Show Ballard I Tellntha Rcxsmussen I Phone 722-4875 I 1 M Ernest Betts' reunion held at Whiterocks Canyon Last Friday and Saturday a family reunion for the decendents of the Ernest and Vida Betts was held up Whiterocks Canyon. About 70 attended. attend-ed. Jr. Betts was in charge with Max Cook, Sue Ann Squires and Elvin Kettle as helpers. They camped overnight, breakfast was served by the committee. commit-tee. They had a program and genealogy was exchanged. Pot luck dinner was held. Carol Lee Rich was home last week from the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. She returned to Salt Lake City to begin treatment on her eye, which will last for five weeks. Tina, daughter of W.J. Workman and Glen Hemstreet of Tridell were married mar-ried June 25 in the Salt Lake Temple. A reception was held last Saturday evening even-ing in Ballard Ward cultural hall. A short program was held. After their honeymoon up Uintah Canyon at the U Bar Ranch, they will make their home in Vernal. Special guests from out of the Basin were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Peak, an uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Peak all from Salt Lake City, Ci-ty, and an auiu, Mr. and Mrs. Clell Ducan from Green River, Utah. The decendents of Cy and Anna Larson Lar-son held their family reunion at Baken Park. Deloris Allred and family were in charge. Mary Larson, secretary and Buzz Larson were over the church services ser-vices held Sunday. Earl Reary was master of ceremonies. They gathered last Friday and dispersed Sunday afternoon. after-noon. The activities consisted of a program pro-gram with Jeffiney Zobell getting a trophy for her singing. Pot luck dinner and an auction was held for raising money for expenses and genealogy. Some home movies were shown. There were about 60 in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Ruthford (Cleo) Adams from St. George were the only ones from out of the Basin. joan Todd McKenna and three children from Hyde Park were here for the weekend visiting at the Max Todd home and her mother, Fannie Todd in Roosevelt. The Wesley Ercanbracks have another grandchild, born June 23 to Mr. and Mrs. Bevin Ercanbrack in Indio, Calif. He weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was named Adam. Other grandparents are Norman Kitchen of Ballard and Mrs. Jolane Kitchen of Gunnison. Grant Gerber attended the State Republican Convention held in Salt Lake City June 27 and 28. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Gerber attended the Roy Massey family reunion held at Vernal last Saturday June 28. The day was spent playing games, taking pictures, pic-tures, pot luck dinner and getting organized for next year.' Those attending atten-ding were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reagan and son from Texas, Morgan Massey from Palm Springs, Calif., Janet Adams flew in from Wasilla, Alaska, Mr. and Mrs. Manual Izoguirre and family from Elko, Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Massey, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Massey and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Montgomery and family all from Vernal. Ver-nal. Heber and Ruth Rasmussen have gone to Idaho Falls for a vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Colin Murdock and son attended the boxing match of Salvador Sanchez and Danny Lopez Saturday, June 21, at Las Vegas. The Colin Murdocks have a new grandson born to Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Murdock in Idaho Falls, Idaho last - week. Mrs. Murdock has gone to Idaho to help care for the family for a few days. |
