Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Jeniel Boren BASKETBALL DANCE GREATLY ENJOYED "By Cracky" the basketball dance sponsored by the Girl's Club was a barrel of fun. This "Dogpatch Jamboree" was held in the gym with the scene being of a barnyard type. The orchestra orches-tra by Harold Rendlesbach, was in front of a huge barn, and with this setting they certainly came forth with some "durn good, music". mu-sic". At intermission time, everyone every-one clad in apron and overall affairs, gathered round, and the honored coach and team were crowned, after which Miss Jackie Barrett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Barrett of Copperfield was crowned basketball queen, and Sonny Robertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Robertson of Bingham, was crowned personality person-ality boy. Everything was decorated in every detail. The punch stand was a wagon being pulled by a horse, and nearby a small pond was found with ducks swimming in it. Other animals could be seen throughout the gym, and Lil' Abner and Daisy Mae were to be found on the clever programs. pro-grams. The coach and team especially thank the girls for the fun-filled night they were honored with. Attends Rotary Club Meet Sam Robison, student body president, represented B H S at the three-day Rotary Club Youth Conference in Salt Lake City beginning be-ginning Sunday and ending Tuesday. He, among the other 75 boys who were guest3 of Ro-tarians Ro-tarians for three days of vocational voca-tional guidance conferences and trips, was able to see some of the state's civic and business functions func-tions in action. Among some of the tours were the K.C.C. electrolytic elec-trolytic refinery at Garfield, Utah state capitol (where they shook hands with Gov. Lee), Salt Lake Refinery, U. of U. campus and U. of U. Institute of Religion. Relig-ion. He stayed at a home in Salt Lake, and certainly gained a lot of knowledge and friends thru this wonderful opportunity. USAC Band Entertains The USAO symphonic band under the direction of Conductor John Philip Dalby and Master of Ceremony Holland, came to BHS Wednesday. They presented a very enjoyable hour of music of various types and moods. The students certainly extend a welcome wel-come hand to return when possible. pos-sible. P-TA "BACK TO SCHOOL" NIGHT IS TONIGHT Bingham Junior and Senior high school P-TA are having another an-other "Back to School" night Friday evening (tonight), March 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. A schedule of each student has been organized in a way that each parent will be able to have a private conference with each teacher. There will be a business meeting from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The parent-teacher conference will last from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Parents are urged to come and show your interest in your child. Come and find out what your child is doing in school. Members Mem-bers of the Prospector Club will act as ushers. Buses will run from all vicinities. vicin-ities. They leave Copperfield, Highland Boy and Lark at 7:00 p.m.; Bingham tunnel at 7:10 pm. and lower Bingham at 7:15 p.m. Junior Prom April 4th Don't forget to be present at the annual Junior Prom. It is entitled "Garden in the Rain", and will be held on Friday, April 4th in the high school gym. Tickets Tick-ets are on sale now by all Junior class members. Price of admission admis-sion is $1.00. Come and dance to the music of Max Engeman. West Jordan Jr. High Assembly West Jordan junior high school brought an entertaining traveling travel-ing assembly to Bingham junior high Wednesday. Among the numbers presented were instrumentations, instru-mentations, vocals and numbers from their band. The students enjoyed the assembly very much. |
