Show Drilling is scheduled for Red Wash field New drilling is scheduled in theUintah Basin of northeastern Utah. Wells will be drilled in the Greater Red Wash field and some 70 miles southeast of Vernal. Chevron U.S.A. has scheduled two deeper pool tests at Red Wash about 13 miles southeast of the town of Jensen. They are planned to go to depths of 15,150 feet to test the Dakota formation. Greater Red Wash field produces from the Green River, Wasatch and Mesaverde formations. Since its discovery in 1951, the field has produced more than 104.7 million barrels of oil and some 285.7 billion cubic feet of gas, primarily from the Green River formation. Newly scheduled drilling in the southern portion of the Uintah Basin will be done by Pacific Transmission supply and Coseka Resources, according to Mr. Stowe. Pacific Transmission will drill a 7,970 foot Morrison formation test about four miles north of gas production from the Dakota and Morrison formations in San Arroyo field. Pacific Transmission's well is the No. 13-30 Federal just a little less than five miles east of a well completed in the East Canyon field in April of this year. About 14 miles to the northwest, Coseka Resources will drill the No. 13- 23 Crooked Canyon unit to about 9,830 feet. It is almost 5 miles southeast of the Seep Ridge field where gas is produced from the Dakota and Morrison formations. DRILLING UNDERWAY AT NEW OVERTHRUST BELT WILDCAT WELL Amoco Production is drilling below 1,300 feet at a newly reported exploratory ex-ploratory test well on the Overthrust Belt at No. 1 Deseret in Morgan County according to Carlton Stowe, minerals specialist, Utah Department of Natural Resources. It is about 15 miles southwest south-west of the town of Woodruff situated in an area where there has been very little close previous drilling. It is in the Cache National Forest approximately five miles northwest of a 4.500 foot failure drilled in 1977 which had no reported oil or gas shows. The new test is 16 miles west of the No. 1 Deseret where Amoco drilled to 15,160 feet. Tests were conducted between several zones from 14.455 and 15.060 feet before it was abandoned. Amoco's new test is about 17 miles west-northwest of the Evanston area's Yellow Creek field. DRILLING REPORT navis Cniintv: Amoco Production is drilling below 3,750 feet at the sixth test in the Great Salt Lake drilling program, the No. 1 State-E, west of Antelope Island.
