M Smith dies Dec 8 Rowe McKee Smith 57 of North West Vernal died December 4 1977 in the Uintah County Hospital at am a.m. Born in Vernal December 8 1919 he was the son of Evan F. F and Sarah McKee Smith He married Phyllis Morrison in Glendale California April 20 1947 Mr Smith had been a mechanic at Showalter Ford Motor for 17 years A VETERAN of World War II he was a a member of the Church and an elder in the Vernal Ward where he was very active in Stake and Ward Sunday School and MIA was the superintendent of Sunday School in Glendale California worked in the Boy Scout program and was a home teacher He was also a member of the Vernal Lions Club Surviving him are his widow of Vernal one daughter Mrs Louis Jeanie Tolbert of Montpelier Idaho four grandchildren two sisters Mrs Floyd Donna Erickson Dallas Texas Mrs James Eunice Butlin of Glendale California Funeral services were held Wednesday noon at the Ashley Stake Center with Bishop Clinton Baxter in charge FAMILY PRAYER was by DeVon McKee prelude and postlude Theda Murray musical In the Garden by Gracia invocation David Erickson remarks by Bishop Bai r speaker Harvey Other Room sung by Lois Erickson Marva Marya Lent and Don Walker accompanied by Ruth Walker speaker Jim Shewell violin solo Whispering Hope Lorna Condon accompanied by Laura Hacking benediction Harold McKee Grant Gerber dedicated the grave Burial was in the Maeser Cemetery as directed by Thomson's Vernal Mortuary with military honors by the American Legion The Vernal Ward Relief Society was in char charge e of flowers and luncheon Pallbearers were Mark McKee Clark McKee Duane McKee Grant Christensen and Lorin Hacking Honorary pallbearers were Showalter employees FELICIA V V.
