T DeVed who has just finished compiling the census figures This does not include students who are residing with friends or relatives to attend school and whose parents live in other counties or states since their legal residence is with their parents This is an increase se of over the 1974 census with the largest increase being in the school pre-school age grouping The present preschool preschool pre pre- school count is 2413 while the 1974 1914 count was 1947 an increase increase increase in in- crease of children throughout the entire county STATE SCHOOL law required that the census of children be made each third year The information received from the census cereus is of great value in projecting enrollment and planning for school building needs Handicapped school pre-school children are identified and services to meet their special needs become available to them The census figures are of particular importance to Uintah District this year since elementary school chool attendance will undergo a change in anticipation of the new elementary school wt which ch is in the planning stages and wt which ch will be built on the Robinwood Lane property In order to ascertain the locations of the children a large map of tho the east side of the district will willbe willbe be pinned with each pin representing a child and the colors representing the grade levels of children in school and ages of school pre-school children This tells the pupil personnel director exactly where the children are and allows efficient efficient ef ef- planning |
