were defeated by Lehi a A 2 team last Friday 70 to 56 Uintah was thumped by Pleasant Grove last Saturday 63 to 35 The Uintah Utes were ahead in the ball game with Lehi 16 to 14 at the end of the first quarter and 34 3 to 33 at the end of the second quarter Lehi outs outscored cored Uintah 17 to 13 in the third quarter to take a 50 to 47 ad ad- vantage The Pioneers tossed in 20 points in the fourth quarter and Uintah could only score nine points to make the final score Lehi Lel 70 and Uintah 56 Toby Gilroy was the high scorer for Uintah with 20 points Lane Hadlock had 14 points in the game Uintah was Shawn King with 17 counters Kevin Martin had seven points and Toby Gilroy i scored five e counters Uintah scored 16 field goals and Pleasant Grove tossed in 20 Pleasant Grove connected on 22 out of 39 free throws for 56 percent Uintah converted 3 out of 8 free throws for 37 percent Pleasant Grove was an experience for us We had back to back games on Friday and Saturday Pleasant Grove and Lehi played pressure defense It bothered us more at Pleasant Grove We didn't handle the ball ballwell well We are going to keep working and we are gaining experience We will improve in all areas We have a lot of young players commented Hughes Uintah played seniors juniors and sophomores in the varsity contests last week Other games scheduled this month are Wasatch at Uintah December 23 and
