Show l v z r 1 r k VERNAL RESIDENTS Arthur Lee Poag and Clarence Estes died instantly Sunday evening when the two seater airplane they were flying crashed in ina a wreck- wreck Arthur Lee Poag 26 and Clarence Estes 27 n both of Vernal were killed instantly when their two seater sealer Bellanca nose dived into the Harrison Auto Wrecking Yard five miles southeast of Vernal Sunday evening about ACCORDING to the Uintah County Sheriffs Sheriff's office the call was picked up by City Patrolman Darol I Lance ance who was first on the scene and radioed for help The fire department and sheriffs sheriff's officers officers of of- assisted by the EMT's pried the bodies from the wr wreckage kage The plane did not burn Lt Harold Cook said they could not determine who was piloting the single engine craft even though Mr Poag was in inthe inthe inthe the front since it could be controlled from either seat Mr Poag had only recently purchased purchased purchased pur pur- chased the plane David Harrison and two others witnessed the accident said said- We had been w w watching king the plane ab about t three min minutes tes when it stalled at the completion tion of a right turn about f feet t off the ground and crashed burying the prop so deep it could not be pulled out by hand As the plane hit it swung back about four feet the tail tall coming to rest on a car THIS SPRING SPitiNG said Harrison family members a trailer belonging to Tom one of Lou Harrisons Harrison's sons had been parked exactly where the plane came to rest Tom had bought a anew anew anew new trailer home and the old one had been moved about feet to the side in preparation for the new trailer However Mr Harrison had talked his son out of parking his new mobile mobilehome mobilehome mobilehome home there Search and Rescue Patrol members secured the area overnight until the wreckage had been investigated by the FAA Both men were employed by Well Surveying Corp Mr Estes Esles was married to Lauwanna Kay Gardiner and had a son and a daughter Billy Dave and Tabatha Kay a M Mr Poag Poag- was unmarried and andis is is is survived d only by his ni mother th r Mrs Samuel J J.
