Show CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION. In pursuance of the resolutions adopted by the Legislative Assembly March 4th, calling a constitutional convention to assemble in Salt Lake City April 10th, a call has been issued by the Standing Central Committee of the People's Party in Cache Co., of which Hon. [Honorable] Wm. [William] B. Preston is president, and John T. Caine, Jr., Esq. [Esquire], secretary, directed to the chairmen of the standing committees of the respective precincts of the county, requesting them to call meetings in their precincts, on Monday, March 22nd, 1882, for the purpose of choosing delegates to a county convention to be held in Logan on Saturday, April 1st, at 12 o'clock, m.?. The county convention will choose six delegates to represent Cache County in the convention in Salt Lake. The following appointment of delegates from the respective precincts of the county has been fixed upon by the county central committee: Logan, 1st ward, 4; Logan 2d ward, 2; Logan 3d ward, 2; Logan 4th ward, 3; Logan 5th ward, 3; Hyde Park, 2; Smithfield, 5; Richmond, 5; Lewiston, 2; Clarkston, 2; Newton, 1; Benson, 1; Mendon, 3; Wellsville, 5; Paradise, 2; Hyrum, 5; Millville, 3; Providence, 3. Total - 53. We look to see a deep interest manifested by all the voters of this county. Each precinct should send its full representation to the county convention, to be held in Logan on April 1st, and the people should show themselves to be thoroughly aroused on the subject of their emancipation from territorial bondage. |
