Van Tax-sells, Tax-sells, died Wednesday at his home in Salt Lake, 161 Vidas Ave, 2580 South. Mr. Smith died of a heart attack. He was born November 23, 1895, in Georgetown, Idaho to Samuel James and Helen Violet Nelson Smith. He married Venna Wright, June 22, 1921 in Logan. She died in 1922. He married Ruby May Green Smith December Decem-ber 4, 1963 at Salt Lake. Survivors; Widow, sisters, and brothers. Montpeller, Idaho; Levere Marvin, Mar-vin, Pocatello; Ida James, Georgetown, Idahoj. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a. m. at the Central Park L. D. S. Ward Chapel. He was buried at Georgetown, Idaho Cementery. Leonard was a faithful L. D. S. member. He helped at the Van Tassell dairy ranch during dur-ing the two years he spent at Tabiona, and had many wonderful won-derful friends. BemeU Rhoades took his father , Joe Rhoades to the doctor doc-tor Wednesday at Provo. He remained under the doctor1 care until Saturday. Mr. and Mrs George Clements brought him back to his home at Tabiona. Tab-iona. They visited at Mr. and Mrs. Arvel Rhoades and family, Mr. and Mrs. ' Bern ell Rhoades and at Mr. and Mrs. Leo Turn-bow Turn-bow s. Mrs. Lida Jones underwent a serious' operation on her chest Monday morning at the Cottonwood Cotton-wood Hospital in Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jones took her out Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilcken and daughter, Julie, of Pleasant Valley spent last ".Sunday celebrating cele-brating Julie's seventh birthday at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Lida Jones of Tabiona. A delicious dinner was prepared for her. The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers entertained their husbands hus-bands Monday evening. A del-cious del-cious pot luck dinner was enjoyed en-joyed by a large crowd. The program of entertainment entertain-ment was a skit by Vivian Curry, Jolene Giles, Jean Babrizio and Flora Fabrizio. A quiz game impersonating Gary Moor, which was Carleene iWilliams. Panel was Jean Fabrizio, Jennie Jones, Afton Giles, Frank Clark and Bill Williams. Several contestants contes-tants were brought from the audience. 1 -I A reading was given by Thek-ma Thek-ma Nye. Afton Giles sang a solo also Owen Van Tassell accompanied accom-panied her with his guitar and song. A skit of "Our Gal Sunday" was acted out by Afton Giles, Carleene Williams as the Narrator Narra-tor and Jennie Jones, the Sponsor. Spon-sor. Mrs. Mary White of Salt Lake City came Friday to get her son, Jeff, who spent two weeks visiting at his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. Sharon Neilson and family of Salt Lake was visiting Sunday at Mr. and Mrs. Walter Le Fevres. Mr. and Mrs, Paul Wadley and family of Ogden enjoyed a visit at Mr. and Mrs. William Wadley1 s overthe weekend Mrs, Linda Gines was in Provo on business. Saturday. She also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Thomas and new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Chugg of Providence and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Chatwin and son of He-ber He-ber visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Tassell for. three days. Keith Hooper, Stake High Councilman, was the speaker at sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Kevin Van Tassell, Brad Morin and Duane Chaviz also gave short talks.
