Show in the social Realm The largest social function of the week was the musical lawn party given giv-en on Monday evening by Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Bonncmort in honor of Miss S!g-rid S!g-rid Pcdcrscn whose marriage to Mr. B. O. Carl of Portland, Oregon, ook place the Wednesday following. Mrs, Bonncmort's home in Brigham street is among the finest mansions in the - city. The interior decorations and furnishings arc not only elaborate and costly but have also the distinction of bcin? entirely unique, the creation in a great measure of Mrs. Bonncmort hcrseli. The house was most profusely decorated dec-orated with flowers of the choicest bloom, all of them grown in the conservatories con-servatories adjoining the house. The guests were received by the hostess and the guest of honor assisted by Mrs. Chamberlain, Mr. and Mrs. N A. Dunyon and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Young. M'rs. Bonncmort wore an embroidered pale blue chiffon over silk, with diamond ornaments. Miss Pcdcrscn wore a lavander satin gown trimmed in real lace. Mrs. N. A. Dunyon was in pale blue chiffon over, lace; Mrs. Joseph Young wore a pink brocaded satin, and Mrs. R. V. Chamberlain Cham-berlain a white embroidered voile trimmed in real lace. An orchestra was stationed on the front porch downstairs, which was decorated with palms and hanging baskets of ferns. Over the entrance hung a large basket of ferns and pink dahlias, with pink oleanders at each side of the entrance. The lawn was bright with many electric elec-tric lights. A fine musical programme program-me was given. Vocal solos were rcn- i dcrcd by Mrs. Martha Royle King, Mrs. Edward Moore, Miss Edna Dwy- ! cr, Will Sibley and Mr. Rogers, who has just come here from Los Angeles Professor Pcdcrson was the accompanist. accom-panist. About four hundred cnioyed the evening. Senator Sutherland arrived home from three months spent in the British Brit-ish Isles, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. He had a very delightful delight-ful time during the trip and enjoyed 1 & to the full. The. greater pan of the time was spent in England, Scotland and Ireland. He visited Southampton i and the Isle of Wight, spending a few days with Dr. Samuel Hughes and family formerly of Salt Lake, but who have resided in Southampton for a number of years. Mr. Sutherland Suther-land enjoyed the voyages across the Atlantic immensely. He came home by the new Cunardcr, the Lucitania, the fastest and finest ship in the woriil " Miss Pearl Van Cott has gone to California where she will visit for two months. Miss Ilattic Whitney and Sidney G. Savillc were married in the Temple Tem-ple Wednesday . A large reception followed in the evening from 8 to n at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. George D. Pypcr. The bride was attended at-tended by Miss Rctta Pypcr. William Wil-liam James was best man. The bridal brid-al party stood in the parlor under a canopy of smilax and white asters. The library was in red dahlias and then; punch was served by Miss Gertrude Ger-trude Moyle and Miss Lena Moore. The dining-room was in pink and white sweet peas and asters with a large mound of the flowers in th'e center cen-ter of the table with pink satin ribbons rib-bons from the chandelier to the four corners of the table. A large redding red-ding cake in a pink basket was passed pas-sed by the bride's two little nieces, the Misses Aimec Whitney and Kath-ryn Kath-ryn Whitney. Assisting in the dining room were Mrs. S. T. Whitney, Mrs W. T. Pypcr, Mrs. Lee S. Snow, the Misses Maude Patrick, Verna Young, Jean Spencer, Claire Savillc and Margaret Mar-garet Whitney. Assisting the bridal party receiving were Mr. and Mrs George D. Pypcr, Mr. and Mrs. H. D.. Whitney, Mrs. Young and Mr James W. Savillc. Delightful music was furnished by an orchestra on the upper balcony. Mr. and Mrs. Savillc will be at home to their friends after October 5 at 425 D. street. Miss Claire Pratt Eldrcdge and Walter Scott Weiler were married on Wednesday in the Temple. A large reception followed from 8 to 11 o'clock at the home of the bridegroom. bride-groom. The bride was attended by Miss Pearl Weiler and Miss Phyliss Thatcher. Lee Young acted as best man. The house was profusely decorated deco-rated in sweet peas and asters. The bridal party stood in the parlor under a canopy of smilax and white asters. Miss Bertha Ecclcs of Ogdcn and Misi Florence Home served punch. Many friends called during the evening. even-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Weiler will be at home to their friends after October 1, at the Fifth East hotel, until the completion of their new home. Miss Sigrid Pcdcrson and B. O Carl were married Wednesday evening even-ing at the home of the bride's parents Relatives and a few intimate friends were present at the ceremony. Miss Pcdcrson wore an afternoon gown of navy blue. Mr. and Mrs. Carl left later for California and the Pacific Pa-cific Northwest. |
