Show Unemployment Rate Listed In Grand Unemployment in Grand and San Juan Counties during dur-ing the past week was listed at 26 per .thousand compared with 28 per thousand a week earlier and 10 per thousand a year ago. There were 87 weekly claims filed through the Moab and Blanding officios offic-ios of the Department of Employment Em-ployment Security, according to Manly B. Lincoln, mana- 1 ger of the Moab employment office. Mr. Lincoln stated that approximately ap-proximately 9,500 Utahns filed fil-ed continuing claims for unemployment un-employment benefits during the. week ended Nov. 20. He pointed out that the total was only 500 more than were filed fil-ed for the same week a year ago, ' and vas remarkable in view of recent sizeable layoffs lay-offs in Utah's mining and related re-lated industries, particularly particular-ly in the Salt Lake City area. Initial claims, at 1,493 for the state during the week iust ended, were ud 225 over the week of November 13, with the increase mostly seasonal sea-sonal and expected. Jobs offered through Utah Employment Security Offices Offic-es totaled 928 for the week ended November 20, down 225 from the previous week, but still 215 more than were offered during the week e November 21, 1970. |
