(Photo by Tom Taylor) Adult-Community Ed, Schedule Arranged for Fall Term The first semester of adult and community education classes clas-ses will begin the week of Sept. 20, running through the week of Dec. 6. The classes listed below will be offered during the first semester of the school year. For additional information on these classes, contact the School District Office. One-half unit of credit will be offered to students working in the high school completion program. There will be no charge for high school completion comple-tion classes. Students may also enroll for general interest or self-improvement. Registration Registra-tion may also be arranged by calling the District Office at 259-6212. For those interested in high school completion, counseling and guidance services serv-ices are available. Regular day high school students will receive only one-fourth credit per semester. On Monday evenings social studies and business occupations occupa-tions will be taught. Social studies will be American History from the Civil War to World War II. It will be taught by Mr. Fogg in room 3 of the high school. Business occupations, in the business pod of the vocational center, will be taught by Mrs. Pat Richeson. These classes include Typing I and II, Bookkeeping I and II, Business Machines Filing, and Simulated Simula-ted Office Practice. On Tuesday evenings individualized indi-vidualized sewing, English, and Amateur Radio Operator will be taught. The sewing class will be taught by Mrs. Helen Benson, and it will be held in the Vocational Center. Miss Roberts will teach English in Room 14. Royce Henningson and Dail Magee will teach the Amateur Radio Operator class in the Vocational Voca-tional Center Electronics Department. De-partment. Wood finishing, math, and driver's education will be taught on Wednesday evenings. even-ings. Wood finishing classes will consist of general woodworking wood-working andor wood refinish-ing refinish-ing for antiques, etc. This class will be taught by Mr. Al Heaton in the Vocational Center. Mr. Lewis will be teaching math in room 5. Driver's education will be taught by Ron Pierce. This class will begin September 29. Thursday evenings there will be a cake decorating class taught by Darlene Nelson in the Vocational Center. Also a science class will be taught on this night by Mr. Gary Mackelprang in room 7. Motor Bike Repair and Tune-up will be taught later in the year. Anyone wanting to have their credits evaluated or wishing consultation about Adult Education can see Mr. Walker at the Vocational Center from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., September 13 through 17. Those who cannot meet this schedule should call the District Office at 259-6212 and arrange an appointment. We are going to have a great year!! Come out and .get involved in community education!! |
