Show Pet e $f ocks Followed Verona As Times Contest Winner une coincidence has followed follow-ed another, making Times staffers wonder whether this new series of the big Mystery Personality contest is "hexed." "hex-ed." First Verona Stocks just happened to be in the office last week when her winning entry was drawn from all the entries of the week. This week when Mildred Cooley graciously gra-ciously drew out a winner for the week, who should it be but Pete Stocks, Verona's husband. hus-band. But Pete wasn't quite as lucky as Verona, or maybe not quite as diligent. He had the right Mystery Personality, Les Erbes, but he did not list all 17 clues in his entry. Therefore he received the $10 in Bonus Bucks going to the first entry drawn correctly identifying the Mystery Personality, and the additional $30 in Bonus Bucks will be carried over to next week's contest. This will make the pot a possible total of $70 for next week. Readers who have not yet entered the" contest should take the time to do it this week. $70 in Bonus Bucks will buy a lot of goodies from the participating merchants in the contest. One further note: from glancing through the rest of the entries this week, it is apparent that the Stocks family, and quite a few other families in town, have used the contests as a family fun affair, searching out the clues and making up their entries, with everyone in the family participating. partici-pating. The more entries your family has, the better your chance of winning the contest. But, read the rules carefully. careful-ly. Although our winners for the first two weeks of the contest had entries which were in order, we noted there were a number of entires which would have disqualified the entrants from the bonus amount of the week, even though they had correctly identified the Mystery Personality.
