Show t. - V i ?r;-s. --I y iff A 52-hour advanced first aid and emergency care training session drew to a close Friday with the 12 City Policemen and Highway Patrolmen enrolled completing the last of required hours. The men were exposed to various situations where they might have to bandage and transport injured persons, which Jim Nyland is doing here with "Injured" Sergeant Don Proctor. Officers Ended First Aid Course Highway Patrolmen and City Policemen from Moab and Green River Chapter completed the last of 52 hours required for the Advanced Ad-vanced First Aid and Emergency Emer-gency Care training session ses-sion they have been concentrating concen-trating on for the past several sev-eral weeks. The purpose of the course which was taught by Instructors Instruc-tors Jesse Powell and James Sauls, both of Green River, was to gain an understanding of various techniques vital In handling emergency situations. sit-uations. Sessions were held to familiarize the men with methods of bandaging, transportation of Injured victims, rescue of drowning drown-ing victims, emergency childbirth, and how to deal with cases of drug overdose over-dose or poisoning. The Green River Fire Truck was used for some of the classes so the men could become acquainted with its extracation equipment equip-ment which can be used to cut pieces of automobiles away In order to remove victims pinned Inside. This course is a prerequisite pre-requisite for taking the Emergency Medical Tech- niclans course. The men who completed the course are: Claude Lacey, Bob Low, Jim Pearson, Burt Jlles, Don Proctor, Ron Wood, John Kimball, Phil Barney, Charles Weber, Brent Duncan, Dun-can, Arch Rolley, and Val-don Val-don Teeples.
