Show Pack Trip Outfit Traces Steps Of Pioneer Canyonlands Cowboys Early cowboys in Canyonlands Country traveled the area of deep canyons and towering mountains by horseback, taking time on the way to enjoy the beauty that surrounded them. Now, with the world in a hurry, roads or jeep trails only lead to seme of these wonders, but have you thought of the thousands thous-ands of scenic-acres which are inaccessible to vehicles in this beautiful country. Pete Steele offers horseback riding trips on old cowboy -trails through some cf this remote country. Trips are featured through Grand Gulch, the Blue Mountains and Canyonlands National Park. Visits to Grand Gulch can be scheduled for three or six days. The six day tour takes you through almost fifty miles of wind and water carved Grand Gulch. If you are interested in ancient Indian culture, this area will facinate you, with its exquisite Indian writings and well-preserved Indian ' Ruins. A variety of trips can be scheduled in Canyonlands National Nat-ional Park. You can ride Salt Creek above Angel Arch from four to six days or take a two-day trip through Lost Canyon. You can see the Canyonlands scenery most people don't know exists as the cowboys saw it over a hundred years ago. Blue Mountain is a cool retreat in the hot summer months. Pete can take you on an outing lasting from one day to six, riding trails overlooking Canyonlands National Park, the Four Corners, and Lake Powell. Rates on overnight pack trips are a reasonable $30 per person each day with a minimum of two fares, and all equipment, equip-ment, including your sleeping bag is furnished. Pete's delicious cowboy meals include Dutch oven potatoes and sourdough biscuits. One day trips are available into Canyonlands or Blue Mountain. Lunch on the trail is furnished and the cost is $20 a person, with a minimum of two fares. Horses are available to rent by the hour. .
