Show Avenue' of Flags Will Honor Vets on May 29 On Monday, May 29, some twenty large American flags will be displayed at the two cemeteries in honor of the service- men interred there. These flags will be the ones used to drape the coffins at 'the time of interrment and are being donated or loaned hy the survivors of these men, according to William Green of the American Legion, the sponsoring organization. Mrs. -Mary Pogue was thc first to volunteer her flag and has worked during the past few weeks to contact other survivors and explain the idea to them. Martin Davis Da-vis of Moab Lumber provided the lumber to support the flags and Bill Hance of JBCO ' will set sections of pipe into the ground to hold them. American Am-erican Legion and VFW members mem-bers will assume the respon- sibility of placing the flags and removing them at the proper times. The public is invited to assist as-sist and observe the ceremony of displaying the flags on Monday morning at 6 o'clock. Small flags will also be placed on individual graves. |
